News of great importance
This is what I got for Easter! Shane and I are engaged! :)
He said he was going to come to my apartment on Easter morning to make me breakfast, so I was expecting him, but I was surprised when he showed up at 6:30 in the morning! I asked him why he was there so early and he said he wanted to give me my Easter gift.
We went into my living room and he had music playing (our special song) and there was a beautiful Easter basket with candy and a black wooden box beside it, with photos of us in frames on the sides. I opened the box and the ring was in a smaller jewelry box inside.
Being me, I cried a lot (happy tears) and he got down on one knee and asked me and of course I said YES! We told our families at church before Mass (and they were all pleasantly surprised!) and our extended families at Easter dinner later in the day. As his mom said (tearfully), "It's the best Easter EVER!"

Congratulations Angie and Shane!! Very pretty rock and MUCH better than a picture of your brown couch. You must be so excited. I know I was when I got engaged about 3,000 years ago.
Are you going to turn this into "Angie's Wedding Blog" now with pudgy angels and blinky countdown things? :-)
For now, we're just going to secure the church and reception site and then sit on our butts until this fall, when we really have to start planning. Shane is convinced we need to make our budget within the next few weeks. I don't even balance my checkbook unless it dips into what I like to call "The Red Zone," so I'm going to leave the budget to him!
You're probably safe for the duration -- I'm not really the pudgy angel/blinking countdown type! :)
